Established in 1931, the National Student Council (NatStuCo) is the leading organization for excellence in middle level and high school student councils. NatStuCo provides student councils and their advisers with the knowledge, skills, and resources that students need to become active, engaged leaders in their schools and communities.

The National Honor Society recognizes the outstanding academic achievement of students in grades 10–12 who have demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and character. The National Junior Honor Society focuses on middle level students, recognizing the academic excellence of students in grades 6–9 who exhibit outstanding service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
