Watson Visits Detroit, MI

Hello from Allen Academy! I had so much fun with all of my friends at this school in Detroit! It was great to meet all twenty-four of the students. We did so many great things that I want to tell you about.

The first thing we did was help pack boxes of food for needy families. Each of the families went home with a turkey, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, and more. I had such a great time helping the sixth grade NEHS members pack the boxes. Even though I have small bear paws, I was still able to help out a lot. It felt great to know that we were helping families have a wonderful Thanksgiving meal.

Watson helps pack food boxes for as a Thanksgiving service project (above). He also supervises chapter members distributing water for 5th and 6th graders at the school (right).

The next thing we did was help serve Thanksgiving dinner to our fifth and sixth grade students and their family members. Each of the families received a plate of delicious turkey, stuffing, corn, and mashed potatoes with a yummy piece of pumpkin pie to top it off. I also enjoyed helping my Allen friends pour drinks at the event. At the end of the night I even had a chance to sit down and enjoy a Thanksgiving meal with the fifth and sixth grade NEHS members.

Although my time in Detroit flew by, I made memories with my new friends that will last a lifetime. I can’t wait to come back and visit again.

With care,

PS: Happy holidays to my friends in Detroit. I miss you already!
