NEHS Affiliation Benefits

NEHS recognizes outstanding students in elementary school and involves its student members and chapters in promoting responsibility among all students, building stronger leaders, and serving the school and community.

Resources that support advisers with local chapter management, project idea development, professional collaboration, and more are provided when a school affiliates with the national organization. These include:

Online Resources

  • Website
Access to the adviser zone offers information and tools to promote the ideals of scholarship, responsibility, leadership, and service; chapter management tools; and opportunities to network and share ideas.
  • Social media
Advisers can “like” the NEHS Facebook page to stay abreast of ideas, chapter activities across the nation, and other resources from the national office.
  • Project Database
The National Student Project Database is a sortable online repository with thousands of student projects ranging from community service to team building. While most projects submitted are by middle and high school chapters, many can be adapted easily for elementary students. A link to the database is available on the NEHS home page. The database is currently housed on the National Junior Honor Society website, but is fully accessible to NEHS advisers.
  • NEHS Store
Shop 24/7 for member recognition merchandise, publications, clothing, and more through a secure online store.

Print and Digital Publications

  • NEHS E-News
This quarterly digital newsletter is emailed to all active NEHS advisers and principals. Content provides direct links to news, resources, and events relevant to all chapters, and supplements content provided through NEHS News. To receive the newsletter, a current email address must be provided using the annual renewal form or by emailing
  • NEHS Handbook
The handbook is provided to new chapters, with updates provided periodically to all chapters. It is also available online.

A catalog of available publications, insignia, and resources is mailed to advisers each fall. Items can also be purchased through the online NEHS store.
